Following complaints from two writers, Amudha Thamizhnadan and Arnika, that Endhiran is a violation of their copyrights, the CB CID police have issued notice to director Shankar to appear before them and offer an explanation. Shankar has been summoned on Monday and Tuesday to counter the allegation.
It may be recalled that Shankar maintains that Endhiran is based on the book En Iniya Iyandhira by late writer Sujatha and had modified certain parts to suit the film.
Endhiran, which had Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai went on to become a mega grosser breaking all box office records and this allegation from Amudha Thamizhnadan and Arnika has raised many an eyebrow.

Gautham Vasudev Menon is taking a different avatar. The ace filmmaker will dub for Milind Soman’s character in ‘Viththagan’, a film directed by his good friend R Parthiban.
If one has to go by sources, Gautham and Parthiban became very close while working together for the 40th year celebrations of the Directors Association, which held in Chennai on Saturday.
“This proximity between them has made Gautham to lend voice to the villain role played by Bollywood star Milind Soman in ‘Viththagan’. The ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ director is thrilled about his new job”, sources say. Incidentally, Gautham dubbed for Milind in his earlier directorial venture ‘Pachaikili Muthucharam’.
However this is not the first time Gautham is dubbing, he’s dubbed for his characters earlier in ‘Kaakha Kaakha’.
Produced by Seventh Channel, ‘Viththagan’ has Parthiban playing the role of a police officer, who believes his brain than anything else to put an end to criminals and rowdyism. The film has Poorna as heroine.

A gang on Tuesday afternoon attacked the crew members of ‘Thambi Vettothi Sundaram’, including the film’s director V C Vadivudaiyan, when they were shooting the last schedule at Mangalam near Kulasekaram.
The gang members also tried to attack heroine of the film Anjali. However, the actress managed to escape from them and took refugee in a nearby house. “It was a scary experience”, she said.
According to eyewitnesses, the gang entered the shooting spot and threatened the director for “making a film which would bring disrepute to Kanyakumari district”. Refusing to pay heed to an explanation by the filmmaker, they attacked him and other members of the crew.
With Karan playing the hero, ‘Thambi Vettothi Sundaram’ is based on a real story that happened in the Tamil Nadu-Kerala borders a few decades ago. The movie is produced by J Senthil Kumar under the banner JS 24 Frames.

Namitha was shocked to find herself being kidnapped by a youth when she was at Trichy airport. The 26-year-old Karuppusamy informed Namitha that he was the car driver sent by her event organizers to transport her to Karur where a function to felicitate actor SS Rajendran was to take place.
The actress went along with him and the real driver who was supposed to drive Namitha to Karur alerted the event organizers.
After a long chase, the car was intercepted and Karuppusamy was arrested. He revealed that he was an ardent Namitha fan and did not mean any harm to her. Karuppusamy also told the police that he merely intended to drop her off at the function venue. The police are further investigating this issue
