Rajnikanth’s Endhiran has broken all domestic Box Office records and is doing quite well overseas as well. Eros International has announced that the Tamil and Telegu versions of the film ‘Endhiran’ got spectacular opening overseas as it has collected Rs. 610mn.
According to the information shared by Ayngaran International (a 51% subsidiary of Eros International), the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film have received huge success overseas as it has grossed Rs. 200mn in the USA, Rs. 70mn in the Middle East, Rs. 210mn in South East Asia (including Malaysia and Singapore), Rs. 80mn in the UK (Including Europe) and Rs. 50mn in the rest of the world.
Post the success of Endhiran, Rajnikanth is said to be holidaying in the Himalayas, one of his favourite places.

The Court has also advised the 'Nadigar Sangam' to send a summon to Nayanthara as she has not been traceable for some time now. It has further said that Nayan and Prabhu Deva must appear before the judges on November 23, 2010 when the case is taken up again.

This high budget sci-fi film was made with a staggering Rs. 160 crore budget, definitely a very high figure for Indian cinema.
Expert report that the movie has outperformed every one’s expectations and it will be one of the best films of Rajnikanth. Endhiran has become a huge commercial success already.
Most theatres where the film opened on Friday were jammed with fans queuing up to buy tickets, which were definitely hard to come by.
The mania could be seen in southern cities like Chennai and also in places like Hyderabad.
Endhiran box office reports have many credits to share. The film, billed as India’s most expensive film has also hit theatres in South Africa this week, where too it has been received well because of its story and the special sci-fi touch.
Rajnikanth plays a double role; he is Vaseegaran, the scientist and creator of the robot, which is Rajnikanth’s second role.
The movie has broken a number of records already, for instance the soundtrack by AR Rahman’s is hailed as the first India one to reach the top of charts in US, Australia and UK on the Apple iTunes chart.
Another record Endhiran or Robot has made is becoming the the first film to sell out in only its first 2 weeks of release in the US.
Endhiran made this record by being house full everywhere within 10 minutes after advance booking facility was opened.
Yet another major reason for the expectations soaring high is Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai, who shares the screen space with each other for the first time. Shankar has directed this film with music by Oscar winner AR Rahman.
It may be recalled that the film was certified by the Censor Board just a couple of days before.
This year's much awaited film, the Superstar Rajinikanth starrer 'Endhiran', has been cleared with a clean ‘U’ certificate by the Censor Board.In other words, it means there is no restriction for any age group to watch the mega budget film directed by Shankar and the movie is for complete family viewing.
Sources say the Censor Board officials, who watched the film on Wednesday, were impressed by it very much and appreciated the team for their hardwork to bring out a quality product.
Produced by Sun Pictures in a 'never before budget', 'Endhiran' which has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan opposite Rajini, has two Oscar-winners working in it. One is A R Rahman, who has composed music and the other is Resul Pookutty, who has taken care of sound effects.
On the film and his role, Rajinikanth, the numero uno actor of Tamil cinema says, "It was a very tough character to play and a very challenging role. We have enjoyed the film. I am sure that the audience will also find it interesting. I am guaranteeing it."
After Endhiran's trailer launch last week, it is currently screened at various theatres across Tamil Nadu. Rajini fans are celebrating the trailer with fanfare. They say, "it is the best we have seen in recent times. Quite like Hollywood slick trailer, this one rocks. Shankar has given his best and Thalaivar rocks".
The trailer has aroused our curiosity. We are now keen to see the film, they add. The film is expected to hit the screen on September 30.

This news may be a relief to many producers who are yet undecided whether to release their films in September. While the ‘Endhiran’ mania was holding the breath of many films big and small ever since the audio launch of the film, there was no confirmed date of release from the makers of ‘Endhiran’.
Some at first said ‘Endhiran’ will be released on September 3 and later they themselves postponed the date. Some even had the news saying the post production and re-recording will take more time and so the film will be a grand Diwali release.
Now it has been officially announced that ‘Endhiran’ will release in September. As the first week has already gone and second week is in front it is all likely ‘Endhiran’ will release either on September 17 or September 24 for sure.
As the D-day has been announced officially you can expect a lot of frenzied action and reaction in Kollywood in the coming few days.

Director K. Balachander could not be by the side of his pride Kamal Haasan when the legendary actor was felicitated by The Kerala government recently because of some reasons.
But Balachander has sent a passionately written speech to the occasion which reveals how he like his Kamal and how Kamal made him.
In his letter KB Sir begins "I have stopped travelling because my bones protest. I have stopped attending film related functions, s I am not in sync with the content and character of current day cinema and so feel out dated and even out of place".
He finishes his letter saying “Thank you Kamal for ruling my heart! Thank you God for giving us Kamal"

The second reunion of the stars of the 80s era was organised by Suhasini Manirathnam and hosted by Lissy Priyadarshan on August 29.
The union this year was more unique than last year because artistes from all the four states assembled for an evening of friendship, art, music and happiness.
Like last year the biggest of them all Rajinikant lead the nostalgia. Other southern super stars like Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal. Venkatesh and Arjun also joined. The one of its kind evening was called 'EVRGREEN 80s' and in total 29 celebrities of the era had a ball.
Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Venkatesh, Ambareesh, Sarath Kumar, Arjun, Prabhu. Karthik, Mohan, Suresh, Suman, Naresh, Banuchander, Pratal Pothan, Mukesh and Shankar were the male super stars who attended the party.
Ambika. Radha, Suhasini, Radhika, Sumalatha, Poornima Jayaram, Shobhana, Lissy, Revathi, NAdhiya, Ramya krishnan and Kushbu were the female super stars at the party.

There is a buzz doing rounds in Tollywood that Nayanthara and Prabhu Deva may tie the nuptial knot sometime in December. The speculation about the couple’s marriage rose after Nayan declined to accept new film offers. The lady is currently acting in Boss Engira Baskaran and has not signed up any Tamil film. Likewise, she has completed her acting commitments in Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu filmsMeanwhile, Prabhu Deva has signed up a Santosh Sivan film titled Urumi and is gearing up for the shooting which is slated to begin in Malshej Ghats.
