The audio of "Vinnaithandi Varuvaya", AR. Rahman's first post the Oscars, was launched at Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai. A host of celebrities including Kamal Hassan and KS.Ravikumar were present at the event along with the cast and crew of the film. VTV is the first project for Gowtham with ARR and hence the album has added to the expectations.

Three songs and a trailer of the movie were screened at the event. A 15 mins video clip of the audio launch at Bafta was also screened at the venue. All tracks from the album was performed on stage. Well, the audience missed ARR's magic as he did not sing the song "Mannipaya" on stage.
