A gang on Tuesday afternoon attacked the crew members of ‘Thambi Vettothi Sundaram’, including the film’s director V C Vadivudaiyan, when they were shooting the last schedule at Mangalam near Kulasekaram.
The gang members also tried to attack heroine of the film Anjali. However, the actress managed to escape from them and took refugee in a nearby house. “It was a scary experience”, she said.
According to eyewitnesses, the gang entered the shooting spot and threatened the director for “making a film which would bring disrepute to Kanyakumari district”. Refusing to pay heed to an explanation by the filmmaker, they attacked him and other members of the crew.
With Karan playing the hero, ‘Thambi Vettothi Sundaram’ is based on a real story that happened in the Tamil Nadu-Kerala borders a few decades ago. The movie is produced by J Senthil Kumar under the banner JS 24 Frames.
