STR’s film Vaanam will not hit the marquee on Diwali, as planned earlier. There has been some delay in the project and hence the release has been postponed to November end or early December.The reason for the delay was said to be Silambarasan’s busy schedule with Poda Podi and Anoushka’s call sheet issues as she was busy with a Telugu flick starring Nagarjuna.
Silambarasan had disclosed that his next venture would be Vettai Mannan. The actor said that it will be directed by Nelson, a debut director, who also happens to be his friend. STR said that he was so impressed with the storyline when he heard it over phone that he asked for a script to be sent over. He added that the script was presented so well that he decided to star in Vettai Mannan. Jai will play an important role in this film. There would be three heroines in the film and a Hollywood actress. Vettai Mannan, which is to be an action-comedy, will be shot in Chennai, United States and Mexico. Music for this film is by Yuvan Shankar Raja

It’s official now that Silambarasan will no longer be a part of K V Anand’s Ko. Although the split came as a surprise of sorts and creative differences were cited as the reason, looks like it’s already time for reality check. As it turns out, Silambarasan has been summoned by ace director Mani Ratnam for his next venture.
It’s learnt that Mani has requested Silambarasan to reserve a few months of his dates for the project. And the latter obliged, evidently. For the greater good, we guess!
