Shining bright in south Indian languages is Samuthirakani. The Chithappa of ‘Subramaniapuram’, who remade his directorial venture ‘Naadodigal’ in Telugu as ‘Sambho Shiva Sambho’, is making waves in Kerala now.
The reason is ‘Shikaar’, the recent Mohanlal hit, in which Samuthirakani played the role of a Telugu naxalite leader who is killed in an encounter. “He is become popular all over Kerala with this character,” a source in Thiruvananthapuram says.
The source adds: “A Telugu poem which he recites in the film has become an instant hit and all eyes are on him now. Following the role, he is flooded with offers from Malayalam film industry.”
Buzz is that Samuthirakani may work with Mohanlal once again. “The script is by Samuthirakani himself and it has been okayed by Mohanlal. The actor is keen at working with him again.”
